Woodworm Survey & Treatment Service
Ideal for: Homeowners, landlords, or buyers who have noticed small holes in timber, fine dust (frass), or suspect wood-boring insect activity.

Timber rot
Timber rot is a form of decay that affects wood, causing it to break down and lose its strength and structure over time. It occurs when certain conditions allow fungi to grow within the wood, leading to a soft, crumbly texture, discoloration, and often a musty smell. Left untreated, it can spread and compromise the integrity of the timber, making repairs more extensive and costly. Regular inspections and proper maintenance help prevent this issue.
Timber rot can either be classed as wet rot or dry rot, the two have different characteristics.
